When scheduling your project, it's advised that you schedule out your project at least 2-4 weeks. The longer the project will take, the farther out you should schedule the project. For a complete remodeling project, you should schedule this out at least 2 months out. The primary consideration for this is because the Pros that bid on projects that take a long time to complete are likely to already have a few similar projects in their backlog, so your project will need to be appended to the end of their backlog. If a Pro can knock your project out earlier, they'll let you know, but it's best to set a realistic timeframe from the start.

Here's a general idea of how out you should schedule certain projects:

  • Handyman fixes: 2-4 weeks
  • Lawncare: 2-4 weeks
  • Simple painting (less than 2000 sq ft) : 2-4 weeks
  • Complex painting (more than 2000 sq ft): 1-2 months
  • Fence/deck installation: 1-2 months
  • Major remodeling/renovations: 2-3 months

NOTE: The more flexible you can be on your schedule, the better. Setting a very strict timeline will limit the Pros that are capable of taking on your project. Make sure to mention this in your project description so that it's clear that you're flexible.

NOTE: If you need to coordinate multiple Pros projects that are dependent on each other (i.e. one needs to be finished before the other can start) then it's advised that you tackle one project at a time. When the current active project is within a few weeks of completion, post the next project (consider the timelines mentioned above). This will prevent major scheduling issues from occurring.
